Uranus in Taurus, Mercury Retrograde & the Illusory Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox 2019

Today Mercury stations to go retrograde (important to communications) and Uranus shifts into Taurus (finances, markets, technology) early Wednesday. These transits are leading up to a very sketchy Spring Equinox in DC.  See  the chart above with Mercury retrograde in Pisces, where this planet ruling over our thinking is at its least logical. Mercury is also conjunct to Neptune (the trident) on the Descendant. I would be hard-pressed to find a more confusing, mind-swirling and inaccurate vibe this chart delineates. I would see it largely in terms of communications  we hear in proliferating stories emanating from the mass media. How much of these stories produce a drug-like (Neptune) dependency on hearing more and more of the same narratives that scarcely ever move forward or make a difference?

Look to see where you may be perpetuating a dream like mind fog in order to escape reality, as both of these placements indicate. Jupiter making a square angle (challenge) to both the Mercury Neptune and the moon in Virgo here imply a magnification to the messages we both get and give. On the positive side, this is good for pr if you have the goods to back up your message!

Double check your work, as always, during this Mercury retrograde, and re-work contracts and anything in writing before you publish or sign. Wait until after Mercury goes direct on March 29th to avoid problems and having to re-work commitments or contracts after-the-fact.

There is an emphasis on partnerships in this chart as well, which I should mention applies to the coming Spring season. Also – there is a grand earth trine in this Equinox chart, so look for opportunities to work with the issues and energies brought up from the January eclipses that direct a lot of the focus now from the January Cancer & /Capricorn eclipses.

Uranus enters Taurus, and I see this as a flip for better or worse, depending on the recent trajectory of issues on the areas of finance, income and personal values whether in your personal life or on the greater life stage. If you have not valued your worth as highly as you should, this period is a time when you will break out and expect more for your efforts. This can apply to the area of your chart where Taurus sits, so think of it as a new cycle beginning where you can  look for stagnant areas where you can revolutionize your approach. Uranus spends about 7 years in each sign, so it will be in Taurus until 2026.

Jupiter still in its own sign of Sagittarius continues to add optimism and opportunity to the areas where this transit occurs in your chart, your business’ chart , in your relationship charts etc.

New Moon on Monday, February 4th, 2019

New Moon in New York City Feb. 4th, 2019

This new moon is the first lunation following January’s two eclipses. There are some very good aspects to the alignments here – particularly that the midpoint of the lunation & Jupiter falls on the Saturn / Pluto midpoint – treacherous pairing that straddled the January Solar Eclipse. This tells me that there will be renewed hope and opportunity to deal with the challenging issues brought up from that event.  Those who felt the full impact of the January 5th Solar Eclipse will feel a welcome relief, and  doors opening to handle the challenge that eclipse brought for January and that will carry through during 2019.

While I don’t ascribe to every lunation being monumental for every person, if a lunation does fall at a key point in your chart, the article in which I am quoted (link below) will resonate with those times.

I was quoted in Good Housekeeping’s article on New Moon Rituals. Take a look here.

If you would like some insight into the recent eclipses and your trajectory for 2019, contact me for a personal reading and we will go over what is coming up for you.

The January Eclipses

The period right before New Year’s eve through January has been extremely stressful for many. It is eclipse season- a time when two or three eclipses come in succession. During these times there are often sudden occurrences that require drastic changes of direction. Through no fault of our own we are forced to deal with sometimes outrageous happenings. It is important to remember that these events are forcing us to grow and that the changes are necessary because some area of our life has become stagnant and less productive. Sometimes a person in our life leaves through some unusual circumstance or even their passing.  The point is, it is not your fault, but you are just left handling the situation. What has made the January 5theclipse more difficult is the close proximity of Saturn (limits) and Pluto (transformation). Pluto is the Lord of death so those types of changes where you have to completely let go of a person are often very painful. In the case of the January 5th eclipse, both the Sun and Moon were besieged (surrounded) by Saturn and Pluto. This made it more difficult to move forward because there are intense issues that must be held in place, at least temporarily, so that you can really feel the depth of the problems and come to the correct response. It is best to not react immediately on an eclipse and give yourself time to sort out the issue(s). Often the eclipses fall in opposite signs of the preceding eclipse in the series, but in this case, we are flung into a new mode and sign. The lunar eclipse is now coming up on January 21st at 0° Leo 51’. This means the things that have left your life or may be leaving due to the recent eclipse will be followed by a sudden switch of focus toward something self-directed,self-involved, creative, heart centered that is at a very new or beginning phase (the zero or 1st degree). If either of the eclipses falls on a planet, personal point or angle of your chart, then the emphasis is even more pronounced. It will be as if one chapter closes and you are thrown immediately into the next one without time to hesitate. Do you know where these eclipses fall in your chart? Schedule a reading to get clarity on upcoming decisions related to these areas.

In New York, the full moon eclipse on the 21st falls on the MC/IC axis auguring some new changes within the city and Uranus (shocks, sudden reversals, technological shifts, enlightenment) at its stationery degree in Aries on an angle doubly emphasizes these changes coming in. We may be seeing some shocking events in New York with this lunar eclipse around the 21st that bring sudden  changes we weren’t expecting. What I am hearing now is it is going to be far colder on Monday- in fact 35 degrees colder than it will be on Sunday. There are technologies that can change the weather that haven’t been openly disclosed that may have to do with this. Listen for the high pitched tone the day before. Keep your warm clothes and a heating pad nearby to stay warm- and hope the technological emphasis in the city’s chart won’t mean a power failure!

Jupiter in Sagittarius: High Hopes & A Reality Check

Jupiter moved into Sagittarius today. Jupiter is a social planet, outside of our personal boundaries, and brings like-minded groups together. With Jupiter changing signs into its home sign, this brings an openness to new opportunities and expands your optimism. Issues in the Sagittarius areas of your chart seem to be opening up and going well. Jupiter opens your awareness through these opportunities that come in these areas of your chart as well, so you may generally be more positive here than negative.

While you may think Jupiter is Sagittarius is automatically great for all Sagittarians or your Sagittarius planets, there are several mitigating factors to be aware of.  High hopes do not always mean getting everything you want, and not getting what you think you want is sometimes an even better learning experience.

While there is a freeing up of the need to dig deep and feel intensely as you reached out (or retreated) while Jupiter was in Scorpio, the overall tone with this transit is the focus on beliefs and philosophies. It’s hard to go anywhere these days without hearing some political topic being spoken about or debated. Jupiter also can bring out overly boisterous opinions and views to individuals and groups that band together. So depending on your relationship to the topic of the day and whether it fuels you or drains you, this transit can have a variety of effects. Be aware of your personal needs; to participate or not, within the public displays that come your way.

Astrological charts with other fire planets and/or angles, (in trine aspect) can seem to have the most beneficial opportunities fall in their laps now. These can always be mitigated by other harder alignments in the chart.

So what can go wrong? For starters, Jupiter has been in good aspect to Saturn all the while it was passing through Scorpio the past year or so. This was positive for drive and follow through on a course of action.

Jupiter will, in a few months, be making a square to Neptune (fantasy, vision and dreams). This brings up the idea of making dreams a reality in a big way. You’ll need to do a reality check with what you are actually doing to make your dreams happen or see if your ideas are not possible to carry out. Start testing your goals now to see if your vision can be concretely manifested or you may find you are wasting your time.

Where is Jupiter in your chart now, and what aspects is it making by progression or solar arc and how is it triggering your inner and outer life? If you want a current map as well as one for the months ahead, contact me for a personal reading and we will go over the best times to use Jupiter’s transits as well as all the other planets’ moves to optimize your efforts.

Fall Forecast 2018

A look at some of the outer planets to plan your fall trajectory.

What to look out for –

Jupiter is now traveling direct in Scorpio – so those with planets  or points in this sign, or trine or sextile Scorpio – as in the water and earth signs, should be getting new opportunities and feeling positive about the future. A sense of optimism comes with Jupiter transits, so also look to the house where Jupiter is transiting. Jupiter enters its home sign of Sagittarius on November 8th  where abundance and expansion in all things that broaden our lives and open our minds will start to come about.

Saturn, the builder, is now moving direct as well. Saturn structures our lives by pushing us to make thorough preparations for success. The direct motion of Saturn also assists with projects that were held up from progressing this summer.

October 6th Venus, planet of love and money, will go retrograde. What to do: resolve issues from a past romance, rekindle with an old love, find accounting errors and collect past due monies. What not to do: start a new romance, make large purchases such as an apartment, piece of art etc., do not try a new hairstyle as your stylist will have a different aesthetic than you do, same with cosmetic surgery. Only corrective surgery may be warranted.  Photo shoots are also not recommended during this time for the same reason as the photographer will have a different perspective what looks good. Venus retrograde lasts until Nov. 16th and leaves the shadow on Dec. 10th.

On October 8th, we finally leave the shadow of the draining Mars retrograde from this summer. Scroll down to my How To Use Mars retrograde article from a couple months back to see if your experiences mirrored those described in my article. Projects that you may have been working on tirelessly are finally able to move forward with greater momentum now. Start to take action, but the real push will be most productive after the 8h of October.

Looking ahead to Nov. 8th, Uranus goes back into Aries where it will finally make its last station in that sign the first week of 2019. This should be your final call to straighten out any chaotic or disruptive circumstances or relationships, and to re-focus on your personal needs in whichever area of your chart where Aries is. If you don’t have your chart or can’t read it, contact me for a personal forecast with all the planets, return and retrogrades etc. affecting your chart for the coming year.

Pluto Goes Direct – Full Moon in Aries

Pluto Now Direct & Full Moon Oct. 5th

We are well out of the Mercury Retrograde and smack dab in the middle of a Pluto Station. This is where Pluto stops its retrograde, grinds to a halt, then slowly begins to go direct again. Pluto is all about release and rebuilding, as well as power struggles. Projects that have been held up start to move with a fury from any prior struggle. Secrets and motivations are uncovered. You will find out the truth about long-delayed issues; it may not be pleasant, but you can’t fool yourself or anyone else any longer. This week’s full moon in Aries makes a square (challenge) to Pluto bringing everything to a head that hasn’t yet been addressed. Will you or a situation or person you are having an adversarial relationship with prolong the situation (Pluto is about control), or let go and find another way to get what you each want? While Venus and Mars are conjunct in Virgo during this lunar phase, perhaps there is a middle road where all involved can still stick to the rules, be less critical and find a happy medium.
